You’ll love a trip to Helen, GA!  Surrounded by the natural beauty of the mountains and forests of North Georgia, there’s lots to do and see. Helen is a “one tank trip” from Atlanta, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.  A trip to Helen, GA is a  great way to get away to the mountains without spending a ton of money! 

Any time is the perfect time for a trip to Helen!   In spring, the North Georgia mountainsides are just coming alive with wild flowers and budding trees. Unlimited adventure for kids and kids-at-heart in the summer, with river tubing, canoeing, fishing, panning for gold, amusement parks, miniature golf, hiking and mountain biking!  

Or for an adult getaway, come for Oktoberfest - a huge celebration of German music, dancing, authentic foods, and lots of German beer! Also of course, experience fall's amazing kaleidoscope of autumn leaves.    Looking for something a bit more challenging than lifting a pint or two?  Take in a round of golf at Innsbruck Resort's Championship Course.  The beautiful autumn backdrop enhances a perfect afternoon on the course!  

Winter holidays are a great time to bring the family to Helen. The town decks itself in Christmas finery looking just like a storybook village, with carols playing throughout for Alpenfest, which runs from Thanksgiving into December. The horse and carriages are also decked out for Christmas, and you just  might see the mountains covered with snow!
